THE PORTRAIT

It feels so good to Be.
I am and I need light
surrounding me,
embracing me,
holding me …
every day of my life
every breath of my day.

And, when my light is diminished
as I move among shadows
of those who walk in shadow,
I will step aside the darkness of that existence …
to a quiet place within my soul.

There will my thirst for hope be quenched,
my weary soul be renewed,
my vibrant spirit be reborn
in the pure translucent brightness of Unconditional Love
pulsing, springing, flowing from a source beyond myself --
yet deep within myself and my timeless existence.

It feels so good to Be.
